WATCH FOR McDONALD"S WORLD CHILDREN"S DAY- On November 14, 2002 ABC will air a special program honoring this McDonald's charity featuring, David Foster, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Nick Carter, Enrique and others. I had the good fortune of being asked by David to conduct the orchestra and write a few arrangements! Be sure to watch...it was a spectacular evening!

Lilo and Stitch (arrangements by Chris Boardman) is an animated feature from the folks at Walt Disney. It opened on June 21st and has been having great success.
I wrote some arrangements for an album by a new Warner Bros. artist named Michael Bublè. David Foster is producing the record, scheduled to be released on Valentine's Day 2003

LOOK FOR MY NEW BOOK!

I have decided it is time to give back....time to share my knowledge and experience.

"A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO COMPOSITION, ARRANGING AND ORCHESTRATION" will provide an in-depth look at the world of the professional composer/ arranger/orchestrator from an insider's point of view.

Many friends have graciously agreed to endorse the book. Along with Quincy Jones, Randy Newman, Michael Kamen and Marvin Hamlisch, others will contribute as well (see Q's quote below).
I am very excited about the project and hope to have it published this year.

ENDORSEMENTS
"Chris has had personal experience with most all of the great composers, arrangers and orchestrators of the past 30 years. His knowledge and command of orchestra is masterful. His practical experience with so many genres is unsurpassed. I know of few others who have "been there, done that" as well as Chris has over the years. His willingness to share his experiences with future generations is a gift that few can give." -Quincy Jones

"I can’t think of anyone I’ve worked with who is better qualified to write this book. Chris Boardman has demonstrated over the years not only a broad knowledge of all types of music, but brings to any project on which he works a special, indefinable quality which separates him from his peers. Call it sheer talent, hipness, passion…whatever you will, but you can be assured that if a piece has his name on it, it’s special. His erudition makes him the perfect person to guide new composers and arrangers, since he is at home in all fields of musical expression. This book certainly fills a need. As Chris says in his Introduction, nowhere is there a practical guide for writing for the orchestra which addresses the literature and the technology of the second half of the last century. Now it’s here and it only enhances Chris Boardman’s reputation as a superb musician." -Larry Grossman (Broadway composer of "A Doll's Life" and many other shows).
